Portuguese National Team is one of nine seeded in the draw for the UEFA EURO 2012 taking place at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland, Sunday, Feb. 7. Where at 12: am (Spanish time) began the ceremony to find the classification schedule. The Portuguese team will be head of the group.

Procedures
New groups are formed, six of six teams and three of five, leading the 14 finalists who will join Poland and Ukraine, the co-host the tournament. The pots were formed on the basis of salary grading system after the end of UEFA in order to qualify for the World Cup with Spain, European champion, automatically set the head. All groups will consist of a nation of each of the five pots, while the six groups also include a selection of Pot 6.

Qualification
Teams from all groups face each home and away, and the days are marked as the international match calendar between September 2010 and October 2011. The nine group winners and runners-up with better results against the first, third, fourth and fifth rated their groups to be downloaded directly to the final stage. The other eight runners compete one round of play-off in November 2011.

For the draw, the 51 European teams have been divided into six drums, according to FIFA world ranking, "five of them with nine national teams and one with six.

Of the nine groups will, six formed by six teams and three of five, with a selection from each of the drums. The qualifying matches will be played from next September to October 2011.

The nine group winners and best second will qualify directly for the finals of the tournament and the eight other runners-up will play a playoff of which will the last four completed the 16 participating teams.

In the drawing, where the drum seeded one will be Spain, Germany, Holland, Italy, England, Croatia, Portugal, France and Russia, highlighting the presence of the Polish star Zbigniew Boniek and Andrzej Szarmach, and Ukrainian Oleg Blokhin and Andriy Shevchenko.
